|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Kite Fest Louisiane||West Baton Rouge Soccer Complex, Port Allen, LA – Named “Festival of the Year” by the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association, Kite Fest Louisiane brings professional kite fliers and hobbyists alike to Port Allen in West Baton Rouge Parish. Great family fun is always on tap at the annual Kite Fest Louisiane’, where the skies are filled with kites of all sizes and shapes.
Inflatables, face painting, a kite-making workshop and kite designing are just some of the activities for children. Bring the entire family, some lawn chairs and enjoy a day of kite flying, Louisiana food booths and indoor flying performed by indoor flying champions. Admission is Free.

|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Blossom Festival||Washington Monument, Washington DC – The National Cherry Blossom Festival is kicking off kite season. The seventh annual Blossom Kite Festival showcases the creativity of kite makers and skill of fliers from across the US and other countries through a variety of competitions and demonstrations, Rokkaku Battles and the Hot Tricks Showdown. |Saturday, April 1, 2017||Go Fly a Kite Date at FENCE||Tyron, NC – Mark your calendars for Foothills Equestrian Nature Center’s Annual Go Fly a Kite Day on April 1st at 1pm! This long running event is always a family favorite in the community. Get outside and enjoy springtime at FENCE on this fun day. It’s always a great time flying kites up on Hawk’s ridge and enjoying the wonderful view of community members flying kites and having fun together. FENCE will provide kites to the first 200 children who arrive and there will be drinks and snacks for all who attend the event. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own kites as well for the event!

|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Whitewater Mesa Fun Kite Flying Picnic||Glenwood, NM – Gather up your family and friends and come to Glenwood and join us for the Whitewater Mesa Fun Kite Flying Picnic. Last year 123 people joined us so there is plenty of space without fences to tangle your kite strings, and room to park for your tailgate picnic. Admission is free and there will be a free raffle drawing for a kite at 2.30pm, so be sure to pick up your raffle ticket on arrival at the gate with the labyrinth sign. While you are here and for a completely different experience, walk one or all five of the labyrinths and a maze across the road at Whitewater Mesa Labyrinths.
BRING: your picnic, your kite, your laughter, the whole family and all your friends, your sunhat and something to sit on.
WE PROVIDE: Water, kite mending supplies, a Johnny on the Spot porta-pottie, loaner kites. Admission is free.
|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Family Kite Flying Day at Zena Cornfield||Woodstock, NY – Join Woodstock Land Conservancy for a celebration of spring! Bring a kite to fly at the open field of Zena Cornfield, Woodstock Land Conservancy’s first preserve on April 1, the first day of National Kite Month. There will also be a spring flower planting activity for kids.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own kites. Some kites will be available. Materials for flower planting will be provided.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Woodstock Land Conservancy. Parking is available across the street from Zena Cornfield and along Gitnick Road on the stream side.
|Saturday, April 1, 2017||2017 PDX Indoor Jamboree||Clackamas, OR -With an entire indoor soccer field at our disposal, this one day event will not include demonstrations or special guests – instead, the focus will be providing ample space all day for everyone who attends (field can accommodate between 7-10 fliers at one time, depending on average skill level… In short terms, there is TONS of space and everyone can get in a lot of flight time on various kites. 🙂||https://www.facebook.com/events/1180702502027281/||9|
|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Fly Into Spring with Kitty Hawk Kites||Fort Walton Beach, FL – Say hello to Spring at the Kitty Hawk Kites annual ‘Fly Into Spring’ Kite Festival at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island.
In addition to experiencing the sight of 25-to-100-foot larger-than-life show kites of all sizes and shapes, this FREE two-day, high-flying event features professional stunt kite flying, demonstrations and lessons, and a family fun fly that is perfect for kite enthusiasts of all ages. The public is invited to experience and learn from several professional kite fliers both days, courtesy of Kitty Hawk Kites and the Emerald Coast Kite Flyers Club.

|Saturday, April 1, 2017||First Annual Carmel Valley Ranch Kite Festival||Carmel Valley, CA – Celebrate the start of spring with a fun-filled day for the young and the young at heart. Our very first Kite Festival will take place on the verdant Pete Dye Golf Course Driving Range and will feature the Berkeley Kite Wranglers, a dynamic kite performance team that will bring unique, custom-designed kites ranging from 80 to 200 feet long to wow the crowds with exciting, high-flying demonstrations. |Saturday, April 1, 2017||Kites at the Garden||Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Wind Riders will gather at Tulsa Botanic Garden for Kites at The Garden for the 4th year in a row. The garden will offer kite making for the kids for 3 dollars. The admission to the Botanical Gardens is 8 dollars for adults and 4 dollars for children. |Saturday, April 1, 2017||Go Fly a Kite||Fairview, AL – FAIRVIEW – On April 1 at 11 a.m. Peggie Knop of Fairview will continue a two-decades-old tradition of hosting a kite flying day at her home.
“This all started when my niece and her friends were in children’s church and they wanted to go flying kites and the big kids asked if they could join,” Knop said. “’Well, of course you can join,’ I said. I was not going to tell kids they could not fly kites.”
|Saturday, April 1, 2017||Kite Festival||Brighton, CO – Get a FREE kite (with preregistration) sponsored by the Friends of Barr Lake. Check out other kites and meet experts from kite clubs. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED to receive a free kite. Call the Nature Center 303-659-6005 to reserve your kids’ kites. We want to make sure we have enough for everyone.
This is an outdoor event so please dress for weather conditions.
