|Wednesday, April 5, 2017||STEM Kite Workshop||Chattanooga, TN – Chuck Jones will be conduting a STEM kite workshop for a Family Math Night at Red Bank Middle School. Participants will build a kite, calculate area in sq. inches, convert to sq. ft., find their weight in grams, convert to pounds, and use a formula to figure out how much wind is needed to fly the kite. AKA members need to enter the festival through the VOA Museum entrance. You MUST be in the park and be in place before 11:00.
Entrance for non AKA members is at 6833 Butler Warren Road, parking fee of $5.00 will be charged to non Butler County residents.

The 31st annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival returns Sunday, April 10th, 2016 with new extended hours 11am to 5pm, and new kite contests! In addition to the ever-popular “Children’s Tail Chase”, new kite contests for the 2016 festival include “Best of Fest”, “Best Ground Display (banners, flags display), “Youngest & Oldest Kite Flyers”, “Most Unique/Unusual Kite”, “Funniest Kite”, and “Most Unflyable Kite” ! Popular past contests will return including “Most Beautiful” (handmade & commercial), “Highest Flying”, “Largest & Smallest Kites”, “Kite Fighting” and “Sport Flying”. Prizes will be awarded to all contest winners. The Santa Barbara Kite Festival is held each year on the west campus lawn at Santa Barbara City College 973 Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara, 93109 (next to the Garvin Theatre), a short distance from the main campus.
