How to Organize a Kite Festival

Yes -- you can do it! (And we can help).

Over the past five years National Kite Month resources have helped Kiwanis, Rotary, and Lions Clubs, Church Groups, Scout Troops, and organizations of all types and sizes run their own kite festivals. You'll need a handful of volunteers and a dedicated person to act as chief, but you don't necessarily have to have years of kiting experience.

Of course, it would be nice to invite some serious kiters whose collection of colorful and dramatic kites could liven up the skies at your event. Possibly an American Kitefliers Association member lives right in your hometown. Check with an AKA Regional Director to see if he knows of an AKA member who might be willing to help "put on a show".
